    Description

There is an old English custom of placing a silver Sixpence coin in the bride's shoe on her wedding day to bring luck into the marriage.  The old English Rhyme pertaining to this custom says that on her wedding day the lucky bride wears:

    Something old, Something new,
    Something borrowed, Something blue,
And a silver Sixpence in her shoe…
In modern times this tradition has evolved into pinning the coin to the underside of the wedding gown.
A small plastic bag for this purpose is provided with the coin.
This listing is for a beautiful presentation of a genuine circulated .500 fine silver Sixpence coin along with a presentation card quoting the old rhyme.   Also please note that the coin shown in the pictures is not necessarily the type or year that you will receive.
On special requests, a vintage sterling silver (.925) coin can be sent pending availability of supply, at no extra charge.
