1. Used for fresh blue berries, left over chili & just about every leftover imaginable. Have to fight wife all the time as I want her to use the glass that she bought. Glass is heavy, round (to much fridge space), & I'm not good with glass (whoops - smash - foot shards). Stacks in almost no space & not heavy. Sealed from air, stuff lasts forever. This is a guy thing ... sick of wife buying my tools. Have purchased four sets (given one to daughter) & kept one set meant for my son. Love these things. Considering one smaller set too.
2. Save one thing.. don't use them in the dishwasher.. it makes them brittle over a few years.. but that is a few years.. going 3 1/2 years on my first set.. lids awesome easy to clean.. lip on inside of rubber so you can wash it out.. snap lid no leak works.. and it vents as well.. I did cut food up wiht a knife in the first set though and it scared it.. they will however never disc olor.. I don't care how icky or what it is.. they come clean as a whistle.. Worth every penny
3. I love Rubbermaid products, especially the transparency of the Brilliance line. I have seven of them in larger sizes. I ordered these five 3.2 cup containers for my calligraphy markers. The outside dimensions were listed as 7.6 inches long. True enough; but the containers slope down so my 6.5 inch markers will not fit in them. Just thought I'd point that out in case someone else had been interested in using them for something similar.
